Make a Positive Contribution

At Hartsdown we strongly believe that the students should have a say in the running of the college.

We have a lively and committed Student Council led by the Head Boy and Head Girl who produce a constant stream of good ideas to take the college forward. This includes suggestions on improving lessons and the use of buildings and resources.

Representatives of the student council are now involved in all the interviews for teaching posts within the college. This included the interviews for the current Principal and their insight provided a valuable perspective in the selection process.

Students enthusiastically take on a range of additional responsibilities, including, prefect duties, acting as guides for visitors, and peer mentoring.

Over the years, we have grown increasingly proud of our students’ response to charitable causes. They are always generous with their time, effort and money. Their commitment makes each charitable event an enjoyable and rewarding experience for the whole college community.
